Prime Ministr Sali Berisha said during his meeting with the Chinese President Hu Jintao that the Chinese businessmen were welcomed to perform their investment in Albania.
Tirana---Albania has offered a free economic zone to Chinese businessmen where they can come and invest in the country profiting from very low taxes.Prime Minister Sali Berisha said during his meeting with the Chinese President Hu Jintao that the Chinese businessmen were welcomed to perform their investments in Albania. According to him, Albania can offer a very strategic geographical position to foreign companies which decide to invest in the country. He added that the Albanian had undertaken a series of economic reforms which had produced a positive impact on the development of the country. Berisha said that only during the period December 2008-January 2009 Albania had signed some USD3.5 billion worth of agreements related to the energy sector.
“Any Chinese company which will choose to come and invest in Albania will profit from the support and facilitation provided by the Albanian government,” Berisha said. The Prime Minister added that the government had offered and would continue to offer in the future lands for the value of Euro 1 to Chinese businesses in order for them to further develop their economic activity.
For his part, Jintao said that the two countries shared very good economic relations which would continue their expansion in the future.
“The strengthening of the economic and trade relations between the two countries is of a high priority for the Chinese government, ”the Chinese president said adding that it would also encourage Chinese businessmen to invest in Albania.
Meantime, Berisha also had a meeting with Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Hui Liangyu during which he discussed on the further strengthening of the ties between the two countries. Liangyu said that the Chinese economy ranks third in the world in frame of volume and has an annual average growth of 9.6 percent.
